This blog set up by some old buddies of mine in L.A. should really take off, especially if they jump to a tumblr format. The call the chick sturgeon “the pike.”  Love it so far.

and virginia goes red

abirdstealingbread:

At the risk of jinxing Creigh Deeds, Bob McDonnell is going to win the Virginia Governor’s race.  And whose fault is this?  That’s right, Creigh Deeds.

Marc Ambinder has a great run-down of the Deeds Campaign’s missteps, including their belief that Obama Democrats would show up without being given a reason to.

As Tony says, “this is a lesson to these old conservative type Dems: your ‘D’ isn’t enough to bring out the people who voted for Obama.  You have to believe in people and their ability to create change - not just LOOK like you do.  Standards were raised along with turnout percentages.  Patronage Dems don’t get it: Obama changed the game.”

I’m quoted in a blog!

When you list your life’s accomplishments will it look like a resume, or will it look like you did something?
My dad to me last night. It is a powerful warning coming from him. He was an ambitious young man and the hardest worker I ever knew. He is taking stock on where a lot of that took him and what he had to give up to get there.

I’m a little floaty right now. :)

Huge props to my buddy NVC for selling a book based on her excellent Mad Men Footnotes blog.  MMFN is excellent, and I am sure the book with all its purty pictures will be just as good.

Buy the book whe it is done, in the meantime read the blog.

Obv Zach is bad-A.  Ms. Theron always impresses too.

This dude can really hang on.

"General Welfare of the United States"

Already at third rail, speaker mentions defense spending which “by the way, is in our constitution!” as one of the costs we have in gov’t.  He is implying as many opponents do that the US Constitution doesn’t allow Congress to reform health care.  I think they have not read ALL of Article 1.

I am heading to an event on health care costs that Rep. Cooper and Bredesen will be at.  This event is supposed to be a balanced and fair discussion on costs of health reform and how to really get things fixed.  Of course, the panel discussion will be moderated by the CEO of Wellpoint.  I also have noticed that not a single person with personal cost issues with health care is present, all insurance industry people and those who they give financial contributions to.  (oh and some Bush administration officials).
